The city of Tapolca is primarily famous for the fact that there is a lake in a cave. Travelling in a boat on an underground lake with unusually clear and blue water will add thrills to your excursion, because in some places the vaults of the cave hang over your very heads and not all halls have lighting.

The famous Hungarian sculptor Laszlo Marton was born in Tapolca. Walking around the cit,y you can meet with his works. The most famous sculpture of the master is perhaps the “Little Princess”, which adorns the Danube embankment in Budapest.
