The brilliant Andrássy Avenue, "dissecting" Pest from St. Stephen's Basilica to the Heroes' Square. Some call it the "Budapest Champs Elysées", others call it an aristocratic boulevard. But the main thing is that this is one of the most beautiful streets in Budapest, and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The planning of the street began in 1870 and was entrusted to the famous architect Miklós Ybl. The completion of the project was timed to coincide with the Millennium, the millennium anniversary of the Hungarians finding their homeland.

During the tour, you will pass by mansions, theaters and museums, past squares and parks, and the guide will introduce you to the stories and legends associated with Count Andrássy, Empress Sissi and Franz Liszt. You will see how the mysterious Kodály körönd looks like, and find out if the creators of the Opera Theater building managed to fulfill the request of Emperor Franz Joseph.

And in order to feel the spirit of the era of the building of the avenue, we suggest driving a couple of stops on the underground yellow tram, along the line of the very first metro in continental Europe, which was opened in 1896.

Coming out of the subway at the Heroes' Square station, you will see a panorama of the "greeting card" of Budapest. Heroes' Square is the whole history of Hungary in one place. Walking past two semicircular colonnades, you can see the sculptures of almost all the prominent figures of the country. In the middle of the square rises a 36-meter column with Archangel Gabriel. Museums frame the square, and in the background you can see the mystical Vajdahunyadvár castle, the graceful building of the Városliget city park, the famous Gundel restaurant and the pompous Széchenyi baths.

After the tour, you have the opportunity to visit the baths, the Museum of Fine Arts, visit the zoo (one of the oldest in Europe), and the unusual architectural solutions of the Ethnographic Museum and the House of Music will definitely not leave you indifferent.
