In the clear water, you can see branches-passages, some of which lead to the lower underwater halls. These halls are about two hundred thousand years old. The microclimate of the cave has a constant temperature of 14-16 degrees and pressure, high relative humidity in the form of a fine aerosol, containing large amounts of calcium and magnesium ions, the absence of dust, pollen and other allergens.
A low acid-base balance and negative ionization have a beneficial effect on the psyche and on the whole organism as a whole.
For several decades, patients with respiratory diseases have been successfully treated in the cave.
The famous Hungarian sculptor László Marton was born in Tapolca. Walking around the city you can meet his work. The most famous sculpture of the master is perhaps the “Little Princess”, which adorns the Danube embankment in Budapest.
Today, the resort of Tapolca is a very calm and quiet town, with cozy restaurants, cafes and small shops.
