The streets and quarters of Debrecen look very original: there are practically no architectural elements of decoration on the facades of buildings. This is the influence of Calvinism, whose followers have long played a prominent role in Debrecen. But, despite the lack of frills, the buildings look unusually monumental and very aesthetically pleasing! There is an absolutely unique architectural object in Debrecen - this is the best and oldest hotel in the city called the Golden Bull.
The attraction of the city, which brought its world fame, is the Nagyerdő thermal park (large forest). The thermal water outlets there were only discovered in the 20th century. The largest spa center in Debrecen is called the "Mediterranean". On its territory there are several swimming pools, treatment rooms and even a small water park.
Of course, when visiting Debrecen, one must try the city's renowned sausages. These are thin, slightly smoked traditional sausages of rich color, consisting of tender pork and ground beef, seasoned with lard and, of course, red pepper! They sort of warm the entire mouth cavity while mildly pinching the tongue. They are eaten on their own, but are also often used to make other popular Hungarian dishes, such as Debrecen goulash!
