Hungary became the first Eastern European country to open its doors to Formula 1. But few know that long before the modern championship was created, a five-kilometer circuit built in a park near central Budapest hosted a Hungarian Grand Prix race.
Today this legendary heritage lives on at Hungaroring—one of the most recognizable circuits on the Formula 1 calendar.
This is a track where the battle is always unpredictable: narrow corners and dynamic overtakes turn every minute into drama. The grandstand sectors are positioned so that spectators can see almost the entire lap—you’ll always be at the heart of the action. Fans from all over the world create the atmosphere of a true festival of speed and adrenaline. Hungaroring is the shortest track on the calendar after Monaco. Overtaking at the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix is almost impossible because there are no long straights or high-speed corners. As a result, aerodynamics must be set for maximum downforce. However, this creates cooling challenges, as the load on the front wing deflects airflow away from directly entering the radiators. Traditionally, Friday features F1 practice sessions, Saturday hosts qualifying, and Sunday is the Hungarian Grand Prix race day.
