Team Building "Knight's Tournament"

Just before reaching Budapest, the Danube changes its course several times, winding through the narrow valley of the Carpathian Basin. This picturesque region is known as the Danube Bend.

The town of Visegrád is one of the true gems of the Bend. “From Visegrád, an earthly paradise,” wrote a papal nuncio - a man well accustomed to splendour - after witnessing the magnificent three-story palace of King Matthias, the great Hungarian ruler of the Renaissance (1458–1490). The palace, adorned with red marble wells and boasting 350 rooms, stood as a symbol of royal grandeur. Nearby, Solomon’s Tower - the site of our team-building event - has guarded the banks of the Danube since the Middle Ages.

Game itinerary:

• Upon arrival at the foot of Solomon’s Tower, guests are greeted by knights and offered a glass of wine.
• After a theatrical jousting performance, the team competition begins.
• Guests are divided into teams and dressed in colourful knight costumes.
• The tournament includes the following challenges:

1. Archery
2. Javelin throwing
3. Sword striking (with blunt broadswords)
4. Target throwing of shuriken stars
5. Fireball throwing
6. Wooden horse riding at the fortress gate

• Ring toss onto a sword
  • Throughout the tournament, squires serve refreshing drinks to the knights.
  • The games conclude with an awards ceremony, after which, to the sound of fanfare, the knights lead the group to the royal feast.
  • Waiters in medieval costumes serve traditional dishes on earthenware plates, and wine is poured into real chalices. The tables overflow with hearty Hungarian food.
  • The sounds of live lute music complete the atmosphere, immersing everyone in the spirit of the Middle Ages.
